Mere chehre pe ghazal likhti gayin

Sher kehti howi ankhen uski

"On my face, she kept writing a ghazal,

Her eyes were reciting verses of poetry."

Bethe rahe zameen par parinde tamam raat

"The trees were cut down, but it was about the bond;

The birds sat on the ground the whole night."

 ab wo itna qabil hai ke mai ab uske qabil nahi raha
